With just months to go in the countdown to JCI, United Family Healthcare’s Beijing and Shanghai facilities are gearing up to show the visiting JCI committee just how we’ve maintained our excellent standards to become a leading health care provider in China.

Joint Commission International (JCI) awards accreditation to only the highest echelon of health care providers in the world. The select hospitals which meet JCI standards measure up to the top American hospitals in terms of patient care and safety. In 2005, Beijing United Family Hospital was one of the first hospitals in China to receive this recognition while Shanghai United Family earned its JCI status in 2010. In 2011, BJU and SHU will again voluntarily offer all facilities up a thorough inspection by the JCI committee again. UFH is confident that both hospitals will secure JCI re-accreditation this year. Cheers to our teams in Beijing and Shanghai and everyone who is working hard towards this goal.

About JCI

The JCI Accreditation process is a voluntary inspection that a hospital undergoes to test the quality of its systems, processes and medical outcomes. JCI is endorsed by the World Health Organization and hospitals which achieve JCI accreditation must pass a rigorous inspection as well as re-accreditation inspections every three years. The Joint Commission International is an impartial, non-profit organization.
