Dr. Alfred Chambers received his master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Victoria (Canada), a PhD in Therapeutic Counseling from the United Nations Open University, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Counseling and Human Development from the Haven Institute in British Columbia. He has over 25 years of experience (10 of them in Asia) as a psychologist and professional trainer.
Dr. Chambers has been a university Psychology Instructor, a college department director, and has worked in numerous therapeutic environments. His experience spans relationship counseling, depression, personality problems, adjustment difficulties, adolescent issues, support, stress, cultural difficulties, addictions, anxiety and panic, health concerns, group therapy, and family counseling. Dr. Chambers was also a trauma responder for the Asian tsunami, the Bali bombing, SARS in Asia, a Singapore Airlines crash, and a major earthquake in Taiwan. He has also been a group therapist for Chinese citizens for many years, concentrating on personal growth, professional training, and cross-cultural issues.
Dr. Chambers specializes in adults, adolescents, relationships, and cultural issues. He firmly believes that everyone has the inner resources to live meaningful and rewarding lives but occasionally need assistance to work through some struggles, make wise decisions, and restore health to ourselves and our relationships.
