Catherine CAI

Dr. Cai received her medical degree from Tongji Medical College of Huazhong Science and Technology University in 2009. Dr. Cai completed her standardized residency training in 2011 in Guangdong Women and Children’s Medical Center, where she rotated through outpatient, common and high-risk obstetrics, obstetric intensive care unit, gynecological oncology, minimally invasive gynecological surgery and endocrine wards where she developed expertise in managing conditions ranging from common to severe and complex or emergency diseases.

Before joining Guangzhou United Family Hospital, Dr. Cai served on the front line in Guangdong Women and Children’s Medical Center, specializing in pregnancy consultation, high-risk obstetrics, common gynecology and minimally invasive gynecological laparoscopy and hysteroscopy surgery. Dr. Cai is also skilled in the treatment of abnormal pregnancy, management of antenatal and postpartum care, treatment of premature labors, common or high risk cesarean delivery, infertility consultation and management, management of abnormal uterine bleeding (AUB), management of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN), and the treatment of emergency OBGYN cases.

Dr. Cai has over 8 years of clinical experience and has completed numerous hysteroscopy and laparoscopy surgeries and high risk cesareans. She completed her chief residency training in obstetrics and gynecology, as well as specialist OBGYN training. Additionally, she received certification in laparoscopy and hysteroscopy from the Ministry of Health and was chosen to attend the third Asia-Pacific Gynecologic Endoscopy Training Course.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Cai is active in medical education and popular medical science. She is a member of the translation team of The Comprehensive Textbook of Healthcare Simulation published by People’s Medical Publishing House.

Dr. Cai speaks English and Mandarin.
