Yan Zhang

    After getting bachelor degree from Southern Medical University, Dr. Yan Zhang continued her education in the University Of Glasgow, UK and received the Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Clinical Pharmacology. Thus, she received the Doctor of Medicine (MD.) in Ophthalmology from the Southern Medical University in 2009. She began her career as an ophthalmological resident and a specialist in Zhong Shan Ophthalmic Center, Sun Yat-Sen University. From 2013 to 2014, Dr. Yan Zhang performed collaborative research in the mechanism and treatment of visual dysfunction in the Mind Research Network of Albuquerque, New Mexico, US. She was appointed as the attending physician in 2015, the Department of Vitreous and Retina, Zhong Shan Ophthalmic Center.

Dr. Zhang was skilled in clinical manipulations of comprehensive spectrum of ophthalmological diseases, including the vision care, refraction, the lacrimal passage disease, conjunctivitis, corneal disease, cataract, glaucoma, the vitreous and retinal disease and inherited ocular disease. She paid special attention to complicated ocular situations related to the systemic diseases, such as diabetic retinopathy, age related macular degeneration, retinal vein occlusion, retinal detachment, pathological myopia, macular hole, macular membrane and optic neuritis etc.

Dr. Zhang published fourteen articles as the first author, four of which are included in the SCI. Her research was funded by one natural foundation of Guangdong Provinceand two youth foundations of the nationalkey laboratory of ophthalmology. She alsopublished one translation book
