Bo Yu

Dr. Yu graduated from Southern Medical University in 2003. He then worked in Zhujiang Hospital of Southern Medical University for nearly 20 years. He completed his standardized training of resident physicians and training of attending physicians in 2006 and 2010. He is highly proficient in the diagnosis and treatment of common orthopedic diseases and revision surgery of critical diseases. In 2014, he obtained the qualification of chief physician in Southern Medical University, and was named associate professor and doctoral supervisor in 2014.

Dr. Yu is proficient in the treatment of complex orthopedic surgery, including surgical treatment of complex fractures, nonunion and infection, artificial hip replacement and revision surgery, artificial knee replacement surgery and rapid postoperative rehabilitation plan, hip-preserving treatment of femoral head necrosis, knee ligament reconstruction surgery and arthroscopic minimally invasive treatment of shoulder joint sports injuries (such as shoulder instability and dislocation, long head tendinopathy and injury of biceps, rotator cuff injury, adhesive frozen shoulder and so on).

In addition to his extensive work experience in China, Dr. Yu also worked in the Department of Orthopedics of Freiberg University Hospital l in 2013 as an AO fellow for 2 months, specializing complex trauma and joint replacement surgery. In 2015, Dr. Yu worked in the Department of Orthopedics at Harvard University’s Brigham and Women’s Hospital, as well as at Massachusetts General Hospital, as a nationally-sponsored visiting scholar, specializing in arthroscopic and joint replacement surgery. Dr. Yu also worked in Beijing Jishuitan Hospital for 1 month as a visiting scholar and obtained his certification in advanced sports injury training planning.

In addition, Dr. Yu was rated as one of the seventh Yangcheng Good Doctors, has good reputation and deeply trusted by patients. Dr. Yu has made significant achievements in clinical scientific research. He has acquired many projects from the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the Natural Science Foundation of Guangdong Province. He has successfully published 26 English academic articles in famous international medical journals, including Theranostics.

Dr. Yu currently serves on a number of academic organizations in China, serving as a member of the Biocomposite Professional Committee of the Chinese Society of Composite Materials, a deputy chairman of the Youth Committee of the Guangdong Orthopedic Society of Guangdong Province, a member of the Orthopedics Professional Committee of China Medical Education, a member of the Orthopedic Branch of Guangdong Province, China Member of the National Science and Technology Expert Database of the Ministry of Science and Technology and Youth Member of the Orthopedic Surgery Society of Guangdong Medical Association.
