Biography

Physiotherapist Tan Hongduan graduated from Guangzhou Polytechnic of Sports in 2014. He later received his Bachelor’s in Medicine from Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 2018. In 2019, he became certified as a rehabilitation therapist from the National Health Commission. As a physiotherapist, Physiotherapist Tan has served professional sports team for many years and has nearly 10 years of clinical experience. He has extensive experience treating sports injuries, musculoskeletal injuries, and rehabilitation.

Before joining Guangzhou United Family Hospital, Physiotherapist Tan worked as a physiotherapist in the Guangzhou cycling team from 2014 to 2017. After that, he worked as a physiotherapist in the China climbing team, responsible for injury prevention and treatment, and optimizing sports performance for athletes. He participated in international events such as the World Cup and World Championships with the Chinese national team during the preparation period of the 2018 Asian Games and Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympic Games. He is a registered physiotherapist for the China delegation of the Tokyo Olympics.

Physiotherapist Tan provides manual and instrumental treatment for various sports injures, and treats patients with acute or chronic musculoskeletal disorder, both pre-operation and post-operation. He also combines S&C and functional training for conservative treatment and intervention, such as climbing, long-distance running, weight lifting, American football, badminton, ACL reconstruction surgery, etc. He is skilled in providing personalized and effective comprehensive treatment plans for patients. In addition, he also has plenty of experience in the diagnosis and treatment of finger injuries.

In addition to focusing on clinical physical therapy, Physiotherapist Tan has also been involved in the revision of teaching materials for the professional certification for instructors of social sports, such as rock climbing. He has published articles in the Journal of Mountains and Mountains, titled “Prevention and Diagnosis of Finger Epiphyseal Fractures in Young Rock Climbers” and “Diagnosis and Rehabilitation of Finger Trochlear Injuries in Rock Climbing.”
