Biography

In 2016, Dr. Chai graduated with a master’s degree from the Department of Critical Care Medicine of the Second Hospital of Kunming Medical University (National Key Clinical Specialty Construction Project Department). During her master’s degree, she completed the standardized training of resident doctors. After graduation, she started working in the Department of Critical Care Medicine of the General Hospital of Henan Pingmei Medical Group, a national tertiary comprehensive hospital and key medical training discipline in Henan Province.

In the same year, she obtained a specialty qualification in critical care medicine. In 2019, she passed the intermediate professional title examination and was hired as an attending physician in the field of critical care medicine.

In 2020, she joined the comprehensive ICU of the Third Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University (a high-level clinical key specialty and recommended for the strongest department in Guangdong Province), and was selected to work in the isolation ward of Lingnan Hospital of Sun Yat-sen Third Hospital (a designated hospital for COVID-19) during the epidemic in 2022. During her time there, she treated hundreds of mild, ordinary and severe COVID-19 patients.

In 2023, she was appointed as an external teacher of Guangzhou Xinhua College of Sun Yat-sen University, responsible for the teaching of critical care medicine theory and clinical practice.

Prior to joining Guangzhou United Family Hospital, Dr. Chai worked at Henan Pingmei Medical Group General Hospital and the Third Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University for nearly 7 years.

Dr. Chai specializes in the treatment of lung infections, severe infections, trauma, multiple injuries, cirrhosis, liver/kidney failure, gastrointestinal bleeding, off-line difficulties, and the management of high-risk and critically ill patients in the perioperative period of surgery. She is also highly proficient in the diagnosis and treatment of various shock, medical and surgical critical diseases.

Dr. Chai has independently or jointly published medical papers such as “Clinical Study of Agatroban for Severe Sepsis after Surgery”, “Sodium aesculin can Inhibit Inflammation Induced by Intracranial Hemorrhage through Up-Regulation of SOCS-1”, “Causal Associations between Gut Microbiota and Causal Associations”, “Sepsis: A Two-Sample Mendelian Randomization Study”, and others.
