Psychology Talk on October 26: Talking about Sex

Whether you like it or not, sex is a very significant part of who we are individually and socially. We can deny this idea or avoid the topic (as many people try to do), but we cannot change the reality. And in our modern world, with the all the information we have available, it is interesting that accurate sexual educational material, for both adults and children, is difficult to find. Schools avoid the topic, and the media distorts the facts. Thus it is left to parents to educate their children on human sexuality, but most parents are afraid of the topic for two main reasons: first, because they do not have a good understanding of this area and second, because of their own discomfort with the subject.

This talk will inform everyone about how to talk about sexuality to children (of all ages) and to partners, such as your wife or husband. Talking openly is a necessary skill for parents to have so children can grow up comfortable with their own sexuality and is also necessary for healthy adult relationships.
