Biography

Dr. Jason Wood received his bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor where he also completed his medical degree. He did his residency at Wayne State University, Detroit Medical Center. Dr. Wood worked as the assistant to the Emergency Department Chairman at New York Downtown Hospital, which is affiliated with Weill Medical College of Cornell University. There, he was also a member of the medical board. He also worked as a part-time clinical teaching and attending physician for the Emergency Medicine Residency Program at New York Hospital in Queens, which is also affiliated with Weill Medical College of Cornell University.

Dr. Wood is an emergency medicine specialist certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM). He has presented before the American Society of Academic Emergency Medicine (SAEM). He has also been a physician for the U.S. Open Tennis Championships. His interviews have appeared on the ABC television network and on multiple Chinese television stations in New York.

Dr. Wood had worked in Beijing United Family Hospital since 2010. He began work in Guangzhou United Family Hospital in 2018. Dr. Wood has extensive experience in all aspects of emergency medicine, especially pediatrics, after being trained in one of the busiest trauma centers that cared for both adult and child trauma patients in Detroit. He brings to the United Family Healthcare (UFH) community his strengths in disaster emergency medicine and in occupational emergency medicine. Before joining UFH, he worked in the hospital located nearest to Wall Street, Manhattan City Hall, and the World Trade Center. He enjoys the distinction of having worked in this unique hospital, which was the first hospital to respond during the September 11 disaster.
