Biography

Dr. Lian Lei received his Doctor of Medicine from Sun Yat-Sen University and studied at the Cleveland Clinic for four years. He is currently the chief physician of the Colorectal Surgery Department of the Sixth Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University.

Dr. Lian is highly skilled in the diagnosis and treatment of common and difficult diseases in gastrointestinal and anal surgery. This includes care and treatment of gastrointestinal tumors (hereditary colorectal cancer), rectal cancer lateral lymph node dissection, inflammatory bowel disease (ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease), anal benign diseases (hemorrhoids, anal fissure, perianal abscess, anal fistula), surgical treatment of anastomotic complications, and laparoscopic minimally invasive treatment. He has rich clinical experience in the surgical treatment of inflammatory bowel disease, including ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease.

Dr. Lian has also served as vice-chair on a number of committees and associations, including the Multidisciplinary Committee of Anorectal Doctors Branch of Chinese Medical Doctors Association, the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Expert Group of Chinese Society of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine, the Genetic Colorectal Cancer Cooperation Group of Guangdong Anti-cancer Association, the Colorectal Cancer Branch of Guangdong Precision Medicine Application Society, and the Colorectal Cancer Special Committee of Guangdong Anti-cancer Association.

Dr. Lian speaks English and Mandarin.
