Zhongsheng Xia

Dr. Xia received his medical Master degree at Sun Yat-sen University of Medical Science in China in 1999 and then worked at Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University of Medical Science. Dr. Xia received his medical Doctor degree at Sun Yat-sen University in China in 2007. In 2017, Dr. Xia was appointed as the chief physician of digestive medicine at Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University. He qualified as a doctoral supervisor in 2018.

As a physician, his expertise covers digestive medicine (including gastric esophageal reflex disease, chronic gastritis, peptic ulcer, functional gastrointestinal disease, liver disease, digestive cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, etc.), digestive endoscopy (including gastric endoscopy, colon endoscopy, enteroscopy and endoscopic ultrasonography, including injection, dilation, stent, stop bleeding, resection of polyp, early cancer and submucosal tumor as well. )

From August 2004 till March 2007, Dr. Xia went to Medical College of Georgia in the United States for scientific research training as a joint doctoral student. He has achieved outstanding results in clinical research. He has presided over many scientific research funding projects such as Natural Science Foundation of China, Guangdong Natural Science Foundation, and so on. He has published over 70 papers in core academic journals at home and abroad, including over 20 Science Citation Index (SCI) papers.

Dr. Xia currently works in many academic organizations in China. He serves as a committee member of the cooperative oncology group of the digestive diseases branch of the Chinese Medical Association, member of the Standing Committee of Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Chinese Society of Medical Education, committee member of hepatology branch of Guangdong Medical Association, Vice Chairman of the digestive and digestive endoscopy Professional Committee of Guangdong Primary Medical Association, and so on.

Dr. Xia speaks English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
