Dr. Yang graduated from Nanjing Medical University (NMU) with Bachelor’s and Master’s degree of Clinical Medicine (Surgery) in 2007. In 2020, he graduated with another MSc degree in Cancer and Clinical Oncology from Barts Cancer Institute, Queen Mary University of London. He has extensive training and experience in both surgery and oncology.
Dr. Yang has practiced medicine for more than 10 years. After graduation in 2007, he specialized and underwent training in general surgery in Jiangsu Province Hospital of Chinese Medicine, which is affiliated to Nanjing Medical University of Chinese Medicine. In 2015, he transferred to the Second Affiliated Hospital of NMU as attending surgeon in the Pancreatic Surgery Division in General Surgery Department. He focused on diagnosis and treatment of pancreatic diseases and complex abdominal conditions such as cancers originating from the digestive system. He is excellent at routine surgical procedures, with abundant experience in abdominal surgery. He can efficiently perform minimally invasive surgery, including laparoscopic procedures.
Dr. Yang is fully aware of and respects interpersonal cultural differences. He is also keen on continuously upgrading his medical training and education. During his medical practice, he published 1 book as the chief editor and co-authored in another 4. He published more than 30 journal articles in key periodicals in related fields and presented his work multiple times in provincial and national academic congresses.
Dr. Yang is a Chevening scholar. He is a valued member of the China Medicine Education Association Abdominal Tumour Specialty, and a member of the standing committee of the Jiangsu Base of the same organization. He also functions as reviewer and member of the editing committee of several academic journals.
