Ning LIU

Dr. Liu is the Director of Orthopedic Surgery at the First Affiliated Hospital of Jinan University, and has been involved in clinical orthopedic work for more than 20 years. He is currently a chief physician and tutor of postgraduate students.

In 2009, he studied in the Orthopedic Surgery Department of Beijing Jishuitan Hospital for half a year, and systematically learned and mastered the new concepts and technologies of artificial joints. Subsequently, he was trained in new artificial joint technology in Hong Kong Mary Hospital, Tokyo Fukuoka Joint Center, Beijing 301 Hospital and Shanghai Ruijin Hospital. In 2019, he studied the most advanced primary replacement and renovation technology and concept from Dr. Paprosky, a world renowned expert, at Rush Hospital in Chicago, USA.

Dr. Liu specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of bone and joint diseases, including osteoarthritis, hip dysplasia, femoral head necrosis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis and other joint pain and mobility disorders, as well as periarticular osteotomy orthopedic surgery and initial hip and knee joint replacement and revision surgery. In recent years, he has taken the lead in Guangdong Province in developing new procedures such as robot-assisted joint replacement, uka, and minimally invasive artificial joint replacement; he has developed a refined and individualized workflow for rapid rehabilitation after bone and joint replacement with the anesthesia and rehabilitation teams.

In 2008, Dr. Liu participated in rescue work as a member of the first medical team of Guangdong Province who went to disaster-hit areas after the Wenchuan earthquake. He was recognized with a First-class Merit and Advanced Individual Award for earthquake relief.

Dr. Liu presided over and participated in more than 10 science and technology plan projects of Guangdong Province, Guangdong Provincial Health Department, Guangzhou Science and technology Plan projects, etc. He published dozens of papers in Chinese surgery journals.

Won the first place in Guangdong Division, the first place in South China Division and the national winning prize of “2015 Orthopedic Surgery Case Invitational Competition”.

Currently, he is a member of the National Joint Elite Association, Chairman of the Joint Surgery Professional Committee of Guangdong Clinical Medicine Society, vice chairman of the Bone Science Professional Committee of Guangdong Health Management Association, and vice Chairman of the Joint Surgery Branch of Guangzhou Medical Association.
