Kora HUANG

Dr. Huang obtained a bachelor’s degree in clinical laboratory science from Guangzhou Medical University in 2002, a master’s degree in medical immunology from Guangzhou Medical University in 2009, a medical laboratory technician (senior title) in 2017, and a health manager certificate in 2018.

In 2019, she was certified as ICSPC International Registered Senior Psychological Consultant and in 2021, she was fully certified as a medical practitioner.

Prior to joining Guangzhou United Family, Dr. Huang worked in Guangzhou Women and Children’s Medical Center for 16 years, serving as the department quality manager, where she was also responsible for ISO15189 declaration work. She has very extensive experience in the review of top three hospitals.

After joining Guangzhou United Family Hospital in 2018, she was responsible for the management of the test center and blood bank. In the same year, she successfully led Guangzhou United Family’s laboratory in obtaining licenses to run the blood bank, the filing of the Guangdong Secondary Pathogenic Microbiology Laboratory, and the Guangzhou HlV Preliminary Screening Laboratory.

In 2021, the laboratory of our hospital passed the AOC chapter of JCI with full marks.

In 2022, the score of zero deduction allowed our hospital to pass the on-site evaluation of the inspection part of the screening hospital. In 2022, she successfully led the Clinical Laboratory of Guangzhou United Family Hospital to pass the first-class STD Laboratory of Guangdong Province.

Dr. Huang has very extensive accomplishments in laboratory work.

She is excellent at planning and timing of HIV preliminary screening and confirmatory detection, STD detection plan and result analysis, rare blood type and special antibody identification, autologous blood storage (storage, recovery, isovolemic dilution), blood transfusion and blood donation, platelet-rich plasma collection, early cancer screening (tumor markers, methylation, circulating tumor cells), and gene detection plan selection (Anprogekol, thalassemia sequencing, G6PD gene, total external, total gene, drug gene, etc.), pathological remote consultation (domestic consultation and foreign consultation appointment), poison detection (chemical poisoning, drugs, drug poisoning), difficult parasite identification, difficult cell morphological analysis (with 20 years of cell morphological experience), etc.

In addition, Dr. Huang has published nearly 20 articles in core journals as the first author and participated in the editing of two books.

She has presided over two provincial projects and one municipal project.

She is currently a member of the Standing Committee of the Second Session of Laboratory Medicine Professional Committee of Guangdong Provincial Health Management Society, the First Session of the Cell Morphology Diagnosis Branch of Guangzhou Medical Association, the Medical Laboratory Professional Committee of Guangdong Provincial Chest Disease Society, and the Second Session of the Laboratory Physician Branch of Guangzhou Medical Association. She is also the the first member of Transfusion Medicine Development and Management Committee of Guangdong Provincial Hospital Association, standing member of the Guangdong Health and Wellness Association, Inspection and Health Professional Committee, member of the First Committee of Microbiology and Immunology Branch of Guangzhou Medical Association, and the first member of the Laboratory Medicine Branch of China Association of Non-Public Medical Institutions.
