Jianwei LIU

Dr. Liu received his medical degree from the Zhongshan School of Medicine, Sun Yat-sen University in 1982, and was later awarded a Master’s degree from Jinan University School of Medicine. Dr. Liu has served as the former chair of the general surgery department, chair of hepatobiliary and thyroid surgery department in the Guangzhou Red Cross Hospital, and professor and master tutor in Jinan University School of Medicine.

Before joining Guangzhou United Family Hospital, Dr. Liu served in the Guangzhou Red Cross Hospital as chief of the general surgery and hepato-pancreato-biliary surgery department.

He has over 36 years of clinical experience and has performed thousands of cases. The diagnosis and treatment of these cases include various surgical diseases such as benign and malignant tumors of the skin and soft tissue, thyroid, and breast diseases, abdominal wall hernia, gastrointestinal anorectal diseases, hepatobiliary and pancreatic diseases. Dr. Liu is especially familiar with minimally invasive surgery technology and enhanced recovery after surgery such as Laparoscopic hernia in children, Circumcision, Appendicitis laparoscope and Partial thyroidectomy.

Dr. Liu has been a member of the surgery branch of the Guangdong Medical Association since 1994, and chair of the surgery branch of the Guangzhou Medical Doctor Association, vice chair of the Guangzhou Medical Association, and is a standing committee member of more than 10 medical professional associations.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Liu has published more than fifty SCI academic papers as well as being published in other prominent medical journals.

Dr. Liu speaks Mandarin and Cantonese.
