Ophthalmologist, Chief Physician
Dr. Zhou received his medical degree from Department of Medicine in Sun Yat-sen Medical University in 1988, and was later awarded double Master’s degrees in 1994 and 1999 from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and Jacksonville State University of Alabama respectively. In 1992, Dr. Zhou completed his residency training program in Guangzhou Second People’s Hospital, and also studied in Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center in Sun Yat-sen University. He is skilled in Graves Ophthalmopathy, optical disorders, retinal and optic neuropathy, and systemic disease-related ocular diseases.
Dr. Zhou has more than 30 years of clinical experience as an ophthalmologist. In addition to focusing on ophthalmological clinics, Dr. Zhou also hosted and completed seven research projects funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the Natural Science Foundation of Guangdong Province, the Provincial Health Department, and the Guangzhou Municipal Health Bureau. He has won more than ten awards in various papers such as the Chinese Medical Association and he has published nearly forty professional papers in medical journals at the provincial and higher levels in the United States and China.
Dr. Zhou is a member of the Ophthalmological Branch of Guangdong and Guangzhou Medical Association, the Ophthalmological Committee of Guangdong Province, the Senior Title Assessment Expert Group of Guangdong Health Series, the Medical Accident Assessment Expert Group of Guangzhou Medical Association, and the Scientific and Technological Project Assessment Expert Group of Guangdong Science and Technology Bureau.
Dr. Zhou speaks English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.
