Comfortable Endoscopy

Common patient concerns regarding endoscopy include discomfort, anesthesia safety, bowel preparation, examination quality, and report interpretation. The Center combines gastroenterology outpatient services with a dedicated Endoscopy Center, offering comfortable gastroscopy, colonoscopy, endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), capsule endoscopy, and advanced endoscopic evaluations. Following assessment by the physician and anesthesia team, eligible patients undergo pre-procedure preparation, endoscopy, post-procedure observation, report interpretation, and specialist follow-up.

Early GI Cancer Screening and Minimally Invasive Endoscopic Therapy

For patients with gastrointestinal polyps, atrophic gastritis, intestinal metaplasia, increased cancer risk, or a family history of GI malignancy, the Center utilizes high-definition endoscopy, magnification endoscopy, chromoendoscopy, and pathology evaluation for risk assessment and screening. For eligible patients with polyps, early-stage cancer, or precancerous lesions, physicians evaluate EMR and ESD as minimally invasive treatment options aimed at removing localized lesions while preserving organ structure and function.

Pancreatobiliary and Advanced Endoscopic Services

Conditions such as choledocholithiasis, obstructive jaundice, pancreatic masses, gastrointestinal bleeding, and gastrointestinal strictures often require multidisciplinary input from Gastroenterology, Imaging, Surgery, and Oncology. The Center evaluates the use of ERCP, EUS-guided fine-needle aspiration, endoscopic hemostasis, and stent placement, collaborating with Surgery, Oncology, Imaging, Pathology, and Critical Care teams when appropriate.

Precise Gastroesophageal Reflux Assessment

Symptoms such as acid regurgitation, heartburn, retrosternal discomfort, chronic cough, or throat discomfort may not always be adequately explained by routine gastroscopy. Based on symptoms and treatment history, the Center evaluates the use of Bravo wireless esophageal pH monitoring, 24-hour pH-impedance monitoring, and related functional studies to document the relationship between reflux episodes and symptoms, helping guide medication adjustments, lifestyle modifications, and further treatment recommendations.

Endoscopic Retrograde Appendicitis Therapy (ERAT) Evaluation

For selected patients with acute appendicitis, the Center assesses the suitability of ERAT in collaboration with Gastroenterology, Surgery, and Imaging specialists. This technique uses colonoscopy to access the appendiceal orifice for contrast injection, irrigation, stone extraction, or drainage. Its application is determined by the type of appendicitis, imaging findings, risk of complications, and the availability of surgical backup.

Multidisciplinary Collaboration for GI Tumors

When endoscopic findings suggest a GI tumor, pathological abnormality, or increased risk of pancreatobiliary malignancy, the Center integrates pathology interpretation, imaging review, surgical evaluation, oncology consultation, and long-term follow-up. Patients can complete diagnostic evaluation, treatment discussions, and ongoing management within a coordinated care platform, minimizing information gaps between testing and treatment.

Inflammatory Bowel Disease and Chronic Digestive Disease Management

Chronic gastrointestinal disorders often require long-term follow-up and medication adjustments. The Center provides specialized evaluation, follow-up planning, medication management, and nutritional and lifestyle counseling for inflammatory bowel disease, gastroesophageal reflux disease, Helicobacter pylori infection, functional GI disorders, and pancreatobiliary diseases. For patients requiring biologic therapies or innovative medications, treatment is prescribed in accordance with approved indications, physician assessment, and pharmacy compliance requirements.
